Leading the customCEsocial team is principal, social director, chief content officer and chief bottle washer, Cindy Davis (to the right, dressed up just for this page). Her routes are firmly placed in publishing, editorial, design, brand building and strategic planning.
Davis found it fun to write macros in DOS while working at Lotus but loves her many Apple products. Maybe it is her secret passion for getting down-and-dirty in the code combined with her editorial and design routes that makes embracing new communication mediums exciting.
Developing a business around helping manufacturers, dealers and integrators plan and communicate via social media was a natural. Davis strongly believes that the two-way dialog via social media needs to be “editorial” in its nature because it has been proven that people using social media networks don’t want to be “marketed to.” This has lead to the new way for companies to communicate: content marketing.

Before forming Custom CE Social Davis was the Publisher of Consumer Media and Editor-in-Chief
of Electronic House magazine at EH Publishing from 2000 to the end of 2008. Davis developed
and marketed the Electronic House consumer brand, targeted to consumers looking for information
and inspiration about the lifestyle benefits of the connected home.
• Developed a loyal print and online consumer-based readership.
• Strategically grew ElectronicHouse.com to over 1.5 million monthly page views.
• Developed relationships consumer electronics manufacturers.
• Developed custom publishing collateral and advertorials for a number of companies
including for Pioneer, Samsung, Panasonic, and Best Buy.
• Devised and implemented marketing campaigns to promote the EH consumer brand.
• Obtained broadcast coverage of Electronic House magazine’s Home of the Year
awards on every major national TV network.
• Built solid and trusted relationships with the dealer/integrator community.
• Developed print and online editorial calendars, media kits, and provided overall content direction.
Davis has appeared on CNBC and Fox News to discuss home technology, and has been
an invited guest to speak to dealers and integrators on “How to Talk to Consumers About Home Technology.”
Prior to EH Publishing Davis developed CPS Creative Group, whose clients included Fidelity Investments,
Inc. magazine’s Going Global and Inc. Technology, McDonalds Corp., Dragon Systems, Boston magazine,
United States Post Office, Lotus Development, and Bell Atlantic.
Davis provided custom publishing, brand identity, collateral, marketing materials and strategic planning
for her clients. Within three years Davis was responsible for one-third of the parent company’s revenue.
